I downloaded this skin, because it looked awesome and very close to the look of Vista. Unfortunately, it didn’t work properly, my task bar hasn’t change (still XP look) and it gave me more problems that I thought. I followed the instructions, safe mode and turned off my security and spyware software. :S

you have to change your system file for instructions go to google and search, make xp look like vista then look for a website tech reciped and scroll down it should say if you havent changed your system file or theme click here click and your there.

pretty shitty for a theme. Look for other alternative, get antracite for a change.

This skin does not support the use of large icons, if you have a high resolution screen setting. The icons for “my computer”, “My Documents”, etc…. can this be fixed? Is anyone else having this problem?

Well, encountered the same problem: taskbar won`t change to Vista style skin and color. That after correcting the name of each file needed to match the name of EreNVista.theme.

So i uninstalled it, but the boot screen and logon screen were still changed.

This one worked for me… all i did is.. quite not sure if this one is right.. after i’ve downloaded that .rar file,.. then extract it.. then you’ll find 2 .rar files on that extracted folder.. i extracted the “EreN Vista 1.0 (Visual Style)” and then i copied it and pastes it on the “C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes” and after that.. i opened “VIPv3 (icon pack)” this one is the installer.. just w8.. after you’ve installed this one.. restart your pc, and there you have it.. but i still have an error occuring after the windows start.. its about that 16bit something.. but im just ignoring it.. and why the hell is the VIP cursor not there.. it says that it’s missing, so i wasn’t able to use it.. i also have “UXTheme Multi-Patcher 6.0″ but i didn’t need it..

This is the worst thing ever, it completely crashed my computer when I installed it then when I went back in surtain applications I couldn’t click on anything, luckyly I put a restore point on my computer before I used it. I didn’t have the taskbar, I didn’t have the aero glass crap computer made a popup with about a 1000 errors when I started it up. I can’t beleive I was so stupid to even download this peice of crap.

if this theme doesn’t work for you all then my advice is to restore your computer to a earlier date ! So here is what you gotta do to restore your PC to an earlier date !!! first go to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore !!! and then click on the first option and restore it one day earlier or 2 this option works if you have system restore activated (but that it’s activated by default in XP) or you can back up your most essential data on DVD`s or CD`s before installing any themes this type !!! you can do the same if you got an virus or if you have deleted some important documents or other stuff !!!

hi got a question. how configure the sidebar to work properly, my problem is that when i open the folders, IE, firefox, or others, the sidebar keep under the folders, not work like vista?, in there you open a folder o explorer and you keep seeing the sidebar!.

Guys just a warning! Before you install this make sure you create a system restore point!! Cause if you uninstall it, it won’t uninstall all the way! Even after uninstalling it, the login screen remains in the Vista style!!

The taskbar issue you are having relates to XP SP3 (Service Pack 3). If you revert back to SP2, you should be fine. For me, that took care of it, and everything looks great! Even the Start Menu is up to Vista spec.

Here’s a tip to fix the taskbar error. Download UxPatcher. Search it up @ Google. Use it and patch your files
Then restart your pc

Great theme BUT… Like all others, when you adjust the Active Title Bar to 18 pixels, the Minimize and Maximize buttons in it disappear. The reason wanting to have it 18 is so that the iconized buttons in task bar do not show any text, as it is the first letter of the program is there along with the icon and it looks like crap. Why can no one make a theme where the X, Minimize, and Maximize buttons resize properly like in the themes in XP do?? Please???

i can rate this upload 2 out of 5 .. it gives a very good look at your computer. very good look actually. but the catch is your computers performance. if you’re running on a 1gb memory 1gb video. it will mess up just like what happened to me. it eats up most of your ram and slows than your computer’s performance. if you’re a gamer just like me. i would rather not recommend this upload but still own experience let’s you learn. try it for yourself for you to see.

VIPv3 will mess up your computer. Its installation system is really bad. And this don’t take any effect on my computer except bootscreen And making my computer slow. And after setup this my computer started to say that my windows is not genuine. Its make me to repair my windows.

Hey this is very nice. the one who created this is a excellent programmer. i installed this on my pc. the whole progress finisched whitout any trouble. but the theme doesn’t work. and now ther are some things i don’t like. for example. i’m logging in on a vista screen and when i’m logged in there is a xp taskbar and vista icon’s and to be honost i find that al little bit ugly. so how to de-install the VIPv3 iconpack? there is probably a way

hi good day, i installed this theme but for a couple of days probably on its 4th day, my AV detect winlogon.exe as a virus, i don’t know if its a false positive but it crap the hell out of my pc. now it cannot continue to log in. .so is reformatted my pc. .to all people out there pls be careful on what you are installing on your system. .

Many people said the have no change in the taskbar.this problem occurs because you installed 7 trans pack.try unistalling the trans pack & then patch again using UX theme patcher & then apply the theme.itz looking good.

Looks good with normal font but on high resolution today, most people need to increase the font size. Your theme have some bug on the gui buttons (ie: close button) when we increase the font size. thanks

This program once installed caused 16bit console error, catalyst control center errors, and eventually crashed my computer when trying to uninstall the program. I strongly suggesst avoiding this theme. Yes, it is nice, but install at your own warning. Also my antivirus program recognized 4 files on install as trojan horses.

double click on the “Themes” shortcut to take you to the Themes Directory.
cut and paste the “QueVista” folder and the 2 Theme files(vista, vista32px) there. onces pasted open the QueVista folder and either install the Explorer or open up the VistaStart1.3 app to get the vista startbutton working.
after both are done then you may go ahead and apply the Visualstyle by Right clicking anywhere on the desktop and and select Properties on the supmenu then were it says “Theme:” (drop downlist)
click on “QueVista” or “QueVista32px”
hit OK or Apply
and your ready to go

HELLP!!! pleaseee i seriously will not reinstall my windows xp for this stupid program!! for people who are going to download this -DO NOT i havent got any viruses but it sure does suck. no taskbar, vista icon pack v3 ruined my PC the logon screen and boot screen are bad i mean really BAD .-. seriously i could make a logon screen better than that >.> and i didnt put a restore point so i cant restore and i uninstalled everything and even used ccleaner and revo uninstaller pro to uninstall every single thing it has but it has rewrote everything and i dont know how to put them to default .. please help me i dont want to reinstall my windows AGAIN yes again i reinstalled my computer a 1 month ago and i guess ill have to reinstall it again because of this program so if some one could only help me….

It works great, this is the best option to use if you want to spice up Windows XP. Seriously, all the other stuff from xp to win 7 etc, doesn’t look nor work too good. This one took about 5-10 mins to install, but everything looks and works great.
One flaw tho, the sound tab, when click on it, it gives a error , so the easy fix is to back up your sound.exe thing from windows/system32 first and put it back once you have this vista skin install.
