Thank goodness I was able to fix it. In order to rename the file to the original name and repair UAC I rebooted in safe mode. Once in safe mode I renamed imageres.dll.bak to imageres.dll and then turned UAC off then back on. I restarted my computer and all was fixed. I would recommend not changing the dll’s eg start up sounds etc. if you are not exclusively experienced in how to. I know I wont ever again.

***Help Please***
I must say I am not happy with the results of this mod. When I changed the name of imageres.dll to imageres.dll.bak I lost the ability to paste the new file because my user acount control was disabled somehow. I tried to rename imageres.dll.bak to the original name, however UAC pops up for half a second, not even long enough to see the option to confirm administrative privileges. I hope someone can tell me how to fix this so I can avoid a system restore.
